Orange Sells 30,000 iPhone in 5 Days
Within the first five days of the iPhone being available for sale, Orange Executive Director reports 30,000 iPhones were sold or 6,000 per day. That figure also equates to the sale of 1 iPhone for every 2,000 Frenchmen! 80% of those buyers signed up for the iPhone contracted plan and of those, 50% were opening an Orange account for the first time. In short, about 50% of the new iPhone customers bolted from other French carriers. To date, world-wide, Apple has sold about 2.1 million iPhones. BTW, you know that German courts have ruled against Vodaphone and will allow T-Mobile Germany to retain exclusive sale of iPhones with their contracted service. Big blow to Vodaphone and other carriers who were hoping to stop T-Mobile's iPhone sales. Ruthless people!
