The Sad State of TeamOS2
TeamOS2 (http://www.teamos2.org) A once thriving exciting organization that bordered on the edge of zealotry when it come to the use of OS/2 and once consisted of the OS/2 Cream of the Crop users and programmers has, today, been refashioned away from anything OS/2 and converted over to an informational site on the Foreign Exchange marketplace.

No one should be surprised by this. Still, a tiny OS/2 community meanders about with a few diehard fatalists now tottering their 70's. These elders still believe someone; somewhere is going to save their faded and unsupported operating system. "We have faith in a one-man operation who promises to pull OS/2 out of the grave and return us to the glory we never quite achieved." How sad is it that TeamOS2 has not only died but has faded into the woodwork as the Forex Trading Corner. http://www.teamos2.org/

Music Lovers Call For Boycott of U2
Paul McGuinness, U2 Manager, has called on ISPs to close the accounts of any one who downloads a U2 song illegally and if they don't demands they face prosecution for failing to participate in the crackdown. The group has called upon Steve Jobs to help them stop downloaders from listening to their music without paying a fee to U2.

The Internet community has called for a boycott of U2 for even suggesting such censorship and demands U2 begin the process of encrypting their music and distributing keys upon purchase to those who want to listen. That method would prevent downloaders from hearing their music alltogether and solve the perceived problem.

MacBook Air Battery Replaceable
There are those backing away from the MacBook Air claiming "What if the battery dies?" and the answer to that is simple - you can replace it with a simple screwdriver and five minutes of your time. Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7toznke5Jec

MacBook Air Solid State Drives
What makes the 64Gig SSD drive Apple is selling with their MacBook Air is so special? The biggest benefit is that SSD's have no moving parts and that makes it less vulnerable to failure, generate significantly lower levels of heat then conventional drives and that will extend the life of your MacBook Air battery between charges. The Finder in OS X is wickedly faster with an SSD drive then it is with the conventional 80Gig less costly drive. In fact, everything on the MacBook air is faster with an SSD drive.

MacBook Air's Amazing NetBoot
The MacBook Air is the first Mac to support wireless network booting (netboot). This functionality works in conjunction with the "Remote Disc" feature, allowing the MacBook Air to boot from, for instance, Mac OS X Install discs that are inserted in other computers' optical drives. This revolutionary capability was accomplished, firstly, via some major refinements to the system's EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface). Robust wireless support had to be added, especially with regard to using secured WiFi networks. The second part of the wireless booting magic is the Remote Disc software that must be installed on the Mac or PC that harbors a bootable optical disc. This software actually includes a NetBoot server -- it serves the netboot volume (optical disc) in a fashion that is different from previous netboot mechanisms and allows remote booting. This newfound wireless booting capability does not exist on Macs other than the MacBook Air, though it's possible that an EFI update from Apple could add the function to Intel-based systems.
